A hundred years old, Ponting's images, are simply unbelievable. Very beutifully framed, but ultimately tragic.

There are also equally great, although different in nature, images by Frank Hurley, taken during Ernest Shackleton's Polar expedition which began in 1914.

Very moving and very inspiring, particularly when you realise what equipment - and how much of it - was needed to capture these photographs in such harsh conditions.

The exibition runs until mid-April at The Queen's Gallery in London.
